1. What information about the users do we collect?

a) Account Information: When you register for an account, we collect your Full Name, Email Address, and Password. We also store a cryptographic salt and timestamp to manage your account securely.

b) Speed Test Data: When you perform a speed test, we collect and store the following performance metrics:

  • Network Metrics: Ping, Jitter, Download Speed, Upload Speed, and total Data Transferred.

  • Connection Details: Connection type (e.g., WiFi, Cellular), ISP name, and Server Location.

  • Device Information: Device Type and a unique Device ID used to distinguish between different hardware accessing the service.

  • Location Data: We store the Country from which the test was performed.

c) Automatically Collected Information: When you access the Website, we collect technical logs including your IP address, browser information, and web-log information.

d) IP Address: We collect your IP address, and the same is shared with a third-party geolocation service, namely, IPinfo.io for showing you your approximate location and ISP information.

e) No Payment Information: We do not currently collect payment information as the services provided are free of charge.

f) Analytics: We may also use Google Analytics for measuring the online performance of our website.

g) Good Judgment: We suggest that you exercise good judgment and caution while providing your personal information.

2. How do we use this information?

We use all of the information we have to help us provide, support and improve our services. We use the information collected from you for one or more of the following purposes:

a) Service Delivery: To create and manage your user account and provide access to your historical speed test results.

b) Analytics and Trends: To aggregate speed test data to provide insights into network performance by ISP, country, or connection type.

c) Security: To protect against unauthorized access (using salted passwords) and to prevent abuse of our testing infrastructure.

d) Communication: To send account-related notifications or respond to your inquiries.

e) Compliance: To respond to legal requests and fulfill statutory obligations.

3. Deleting your information

a) Test Result Dissociation: Our application allows you to “delete” specific speed test results from your history. When you perform this action, we do not delete the technical performance data (e.g., download speed, ISP, country). Instead, we permanently remove the userId and deviceId linked to that record. This anonymizes the data, making it impossible to re-associate those metrics with your account. We retain this anonymized data to improve global network insights.

b) Account Deletion: You may choose to delete your account at any time. Upon account deletion, all data in the users table associated with you (Name, Email, Password, Salt) is permanently purged from our database. Any speed test records remaining in our database will be automatically dissociated from your identity and retained in an anonymized format as described above. contact@findspeed.net.

4. Sharing of information

a) IP Address: We collect your IP address, and the same is shared with a third-party geolocation service, namely, IPinfo.io for showing you your approximate location and ISP information.

b) Google Analytics: We may also use Google Analytics for measuring the online performance of our website.

c) Third-Parties: We may use the services of third-parties to provide you some of the services requested by you, in which case, some of your information may be shared with such third-party service providers.

d) Legal Requests: We may also share your information in response to legal requests. Please refer to Section 11.

5. Storage and Security of Information

a) Storage: Our database is hosted on Cloudflare D1, a distributed SQL database. Your data may be stored in various global data centers to ensure low-latency access.

b) Steps taken by us to protect your data: We will regularly take the following steps to protect the integrity of your information:

  • Password Hashing: We do not store plain-text passwords; we use a unique salt and industry-standard hashing for every user.
  • Encryption: Data is encrypted in transit using SSL/TLS protocols.
  • Minimal Access: Only essential backend processes interact with your data.
  • We will protect the security of your information while it is being transmitted by using secure connection;
  • We will use computer safeguards such as firewalls to keep this data safe;
  • We will only authorize access to employees and trusted partners who need it to carry out their responsibilities;
